Cyclades is the platform of the Ministry of National Education that manages registrations for exams (diploma, baccalaureate, certifications). A connection bug on this service blocks access to the candidate space, grades, or convocations. The causes are rarely linked to the password alone: the browser, network, or account configuration play a direct role.
Browser cache and cookies: the primary cause of Cyclades blockage
The majority of connection failures to Cyclades stem from outdated data stored by the browser. An expired cookie or a corrupted cache prevents the page from loading the login form correctly.

Before any other action, clear the cache and delete the cookies related to the domain cyclades.education.gouv.fr. On most browsers, the combination Ctrl + Shift + Delete opens the cleanup panel directly. Select at least cookies and cached files, then restart the browser.
A detail often overlooked: browser extensions can block Cyclades scripts. Ad blockers, anti-tracking modules, or built-in VPNs modify the network requests sent to the server. Temporarily disable all extensions, then attempt a new login on the candidate space homepage.

If the problem persists after this cleanup, it is better to try to resolve a Cyclades connection bug by testing another browser. Chrome, Firefox, and Edge do not handle security certificates in the same way, and a corrupted browser profile does not always get fixed by clearing the cache.
Identifier or password issue on the candidate space
The Cyclades identifier corresponds to the email address provided during registration. A common mistake is to use an old address, especially when the initial registration was done by the school.

Check the exact address in your old confirmation emails sent by the Cyclades service. The subject usually contains the mention “account creation” or “candidate registration.” If you cannot find any message, the address used is probably not the one you are trying.
The password reset procedure involves a link sent to that same address. If you no longer have access to the associated email inbox, the only solution is to contact the examination service of your academy. Processing times vary depending on the time of year, with a peak in requests around results and registrations.
Login via FranceConnect
Cyclades offers authentication via FranceConnect, which allows you to log in with the credentials of another public service (impots.gouv.fr, Ameli, etc.). This method bypasses the forgotten password issue on Cyclades, but it assumes that the FranceConnect account is properly linked to the same candidate profile.
If you created your Cyclades account without going through FranceConnect, the linking is not automatic. You must first log in once with your standard Cyclades credentials, then link the FranceConnect account from the profile settings. This creates a circular blockage situation when the password is lost and FranceConnect has never been associated.
Network blockage and errors related to the Cyclades server
Some networks impose restrictions that prevent access to public digital services. School networks often filter outgoing traffic, and the firewall may block requests to cyclades.education.gouv.fr without displaying an explicit error message.
To identify a network blockage, test the connection from another network:
- Sharing a connection from a mobile phone eliminates local network restrictions and allows you to check if the problem comes from the institution’s or home firewall
- A different Wi-Fi network (library, public space) provides a neutral environment to test access to the service
- Private browsing (Ctrl + Shift + N on Chrome, Ctrl + Shift + P on Firefox) loads the page without cookies or cache, isolating the browser configuration issue
A blank page or a 503 error indicates a server overload, not a problem on your end. During exam result periods, the platform receives a volume of simultaneous connections that sometimes exceeds its capacity. Waiting one to two hours is usually sufficient.
Candidate profile configuration and access to grades
Accessing the account does not guarantee finding the expected information. The Cyclades candidate space displays grades, convocations, and registration status only if the profile is correctly linked to an active exam session.
A profile without visible registration may mean several things:
- The registration was done by the school and the linking to the personal account is not yet effective
- The exam session is not yet open in the system (results appear at a specific date and time, not before)
- The candidate has two accounts with different email addresses, and the registration is on the other profile
Merging two candidate accounts requires intervention from the academic service. The platform does not offer this option as a self-service. Have your candidate number (present on the convocation) and both email addresses ready to expedite processing.

Recommended browser and technical settings for Cyclades
The Cyclades service works best with an up-to-date browser. Outdated versions of Internet Explorer or Safari on older operating systems generate display errors that resemble a connection bug, while the page simply does not load correctly.
Enable JavaScript and allow third-party cookies for the domain education.gouv.fr. Some browsers block third-party cookies by default since their latest updates, which prevents the authentication mechanism from functioning. In the privacy settings, add an exception for the relevant domain.
Compatibility mode (sometimes automatically enabled by browsers on government sites) can also cause issues. Check in the advanced settings that this mode is disabled for the Cyclades page.
When the blockage occurs just before a registration deadline, the most reliable reflex is to combine a clean browser (new profile or private browsing), a mobile network in connection sharing, and the exact email address of the account. These three elements together eliminate almost all causes of bugs without needing to contact academic support.
